Question about 2004 BMW 3 Series
I have a 2004 bmw 325ci. My side mirrors will not move by the control switch on the drivers door, but when i put my car in reverse the passenger side mirror tilts down. So i know the motor is fine. I have'nt changed the control switch yet, but do you think that could be the problem? I have already took the driver door panel off to see if all plugs were in, and they were. Thanks
I have never had the privelage to work on a BMW but I am assuming they are assembled in a similar manner to most other modern cars so if you look directly behind the mirror on the inside there should be a plastic cover which hides the mounting bolts for the mirror.
The cover should just unclip without too much pressure.
There will be some wires coming from the back of the mirror which will have to be removed before removing the mirror. You should see a plastic block which the wires go into, seperate the blocks, remove the bolts and remove the mirror.
I hope this has helped or is reasonably close to what I am telling you

Shift to reverse, adjust the mirror for normal, and save that to memory for that operator. This is presuming that you have not found a setting to turn off reverse mirror settings.....

Testimonial: "THAT DID THE TRICK, THANKS"
You'll need to remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. You'll need to lift the door panel upwards in order to get it off the window ledge. If needed, you can pull back the weather seal (can't reuse it, but it's not that important) and you will be able to access everything inside the door

On the inside trim, you can remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. You'll need to lift the door panel upwards in order to get it off the window ledge. Then you'll need to manipulate the panel and disconnect the door handle linkage from the door handle and disconnect the wiring for your controls. Then you can access the bolts that secure the mirror onto the door
