What will keep my 2006 chevy Impala from starting?

Does this car have 'Fusable Link' wires that come from the battery to the main fuse box? Those could be burned, Check the main ground wire that goes to the engine block from the negative terminal of the battery. Use a multimeter to check for voltage all along these circuits.

Which wires go where on a 2003 3.4 liter Chevy

There are three posts on the starter solenoid. Two large ones, and one small one. One of the large ones has a braided wire going into the starter. leave this one alone. On the other large ones, you will connect the positive battery cable as well as the large red wire coming from the alternator. The small purple wire connects to the small post on the solenoid. Lastly, on the engine block pointing the opposite way (towards the drivers side) is another stud and you will connect the negative battery cable to it.
Make sure that none of the wires can touch the other posts coming out of the solenoid.

6: Purple Starter actuator wire - 12V when key turned to start.
9: Positive Battery Cable
10: Positive Cable from Alternator

2002 chevy impala won't start if I jump starter

Is the security light on or flashing ?
The yellow wire goes from the key switch to the neutral safety switch, then to the starter. So bypassing the neutral safety would make the starter crank the engine, but would have nothing to do with the rest of the engine.

Nothing to it,large positive cable from battery to large post on the starter solenoid on the starter, top one,and all the other wires with the large hole in the terminal connector go there as well, the small wire(purple)goes to the small terminal on the inside ,towards the engine block,on the solenoid. You are ready to go.
