With the car not running disconnect the Positive terminal, put one end of test light in between the battery cable terminal that you just disconnected and the Battery nipple terminal on the other end of the test light if light comes on with a not running car have somebody at the same time pull out every fuse till the light comes off, that will be the area of your leak,

When i go to crank the car it sometimes wont turn over, the car goes completly dead for that few moments, everything else is still working at the time, then starts to turn over slowely is it a starter,...

I think your battery is dying and cannot hold a charge. However if it is newish, say less than 2 yrs old and has never been run completely flat (that wrecks a car battery) you might suspect instead

- a poor ground connection between battery, engine block and body
- worn contacts in the starter solenoid
- a dead spot in the starter motor armature, which intermittently causes it not to crank

BATTERY DIES WHEN I TURN THE CAR OFF

Sounds like you need a new battery and an alternator. You can have both of these parts checked at your local AutoZone or parts store.

Crown vic 2000 wont crank ? battery, alternator, starter, starter relay all good ?

The problem is in the wiring harness, yes the battery and starter is good, the harness you repaired is the PRNDL. for the starter to start it need a path when the vehicle is Park or Nuetral, there the path is closed some how by Park and Nuetral the path is open.Thats why there is a no start.when in park or nuetral the path is closed.

Charges ok, battery was replaced, connections cleaned and painted, ran fine for almost three months, then battery went flat again, checked altenator clleaned and greased connections, van ran fine for any...

I would check and clean any wire and connection between the alt and the battery and all grounds. Also check and see if charging voltage is the same at the battery post as it is at the lug on the alt.

Car wont start all the time

is the battery holding a good charge.....check gauge on dash, the needle should show about 13v . Also if your battery is well over three years old ...get a new one..about 600-900 cold cranking amps! your belt could be worn too if its never been changed, i would advise that you change it, it will help the alternator keep your new battery charged properly.

1999 tahoe won't hold charge

you may have an earth problem, but unlikely if did not register on diagnosis so you'll probably need a new battery or it may need conditioning( distilled water so might as well get new battery).

Car wont start

First clean all battery terminals ensure there is no corrotion, after cleaning them light coat with a dab of grease to protect from further corrosion.

Although the lights may work, the battery may not have enough power to kick the starter over.

Since you specified no noise, suggest you check the starter solenoid first. Ensure the battery is good and holding the charge.
5 years old, time for a new one. 3 years old, need to have it check for CCA (Cold Cranking Amps)

Ensure your alternator is working properly. May not be charging the battery.
