Question about 2005 Hyundai Elantra

Low beam bulbs are out

I have puchased the bulbs but do not know how to remove the old bulbs. There is a twist cap under the hood that I could access and unplug the passenger side bulb. I could not remove the bulb.

Is this the correct place to access the bulb?

The bulbs are held in with a wire clip, push down on the small loop
side of the clip. Whatever you do don't remove the small screw that
holds the clip. Remove the battery on the drivers side for easiest change.

Need to change low beam headlight, how do I remove the burned out bulb

Check to see if there is access behind the lens with the hood up to twist a ring and remove the bulb that way.

Compare the new bulb purchased with the old installed bulb which will have wires leading to the socket which plugs into the bulb.

Many times there is a ring that holds the halogen bulb in. Don't touch the glass of the bulb. Maybe use some nitrile or latex gloves, and don't remove until cool.

Good luck on this repair.

Need to replace low beam bulbs in 2004 GMC envoy. Help?

Lift hood, at top of each headlight assembly look for two L-shaped tabs. Pull these tabs straight up, this will release the headlight assembly. Lift assembly forward to gain access to rear of assembly. There two rubber caps, the top one is for access to the low beam and the bottom for the high beam bulbs. Remove the appropriate cap, grasp bulb socket and turn CCW to release. Unplug bulb from socket by releasing catch on side of socket, install new bulb, DO NOT touch bulb glass with fingers. Reverse steps to re-assemble.

How do I fix a headlight that is burned out on low beam on a '97 Olds supreme

I believe that car has halogen lights, which are generally replaced from under the hood. Look behind the headlight, and you should see a connector that you can turn 1/4 turn and then remove the lamp. Get a replacement (before you start), unplug the old and plug in the new. BE CAREFUL not to touch the new lamp. Oils from your hand will cause the bulb to bubble when it heats up. Slide the connector back in and turn 1/4 turn to lock. I hope this helps you fix the problem.

2003 Seville STS low beam headlights don't work

ya its is prolly the bulbs, open your hood. look behind your headlamps, some have covers for the low beam and high beam. if there are covers turn on your high beams so you will know which bulb is your lowbeam. if you can unplug them. after cover is removed and you can acces the bulbs. they either twist out, lefty lossey. or they have little metal retainers that you have to move a certian way before you can swing the retainer out. its like a door you just have to unhook the proper side of retainer and the other side will be hinged. use a flash light and look at it close. good luck

Replacing a headlight bulb, low beam, in a 2004 Chevi Trailblazer

Step1
Your first stop should be to your local auto parts shop to get the bulbs you need. You'll need to pick up #9006 bulb, this one has a gray bas and is used for replacing the outside high beam. If you are looking to replace your inner low beams you'll need to pick up #9005 which has a black base. The bulbs should run you about $16.00 USD.
Step2
Alright once you have your bulb and are ready to replace it make sure you have popped the hood the release lever is on the inside of your vehicle.
Step3
While facing your car with the hood open, your going to remove the grill by pushing down on the two retainer clips which are on the top of the grill. You'll need a flathead screwdriver to help you with the rest of the retainer clips. There are two on the bottom ends of your grill one in the center and 2 on each side. Now you'll just pull up on the grill and it should come out easily.
Step4
On each side of the headlamp you should see a One inch long tab, when you pull up on the tabs it will release the headlamp so that you may pull the headlamp toward you. Pull the head lamp out.
Step5

There will be two round rubber caps at the rear of the headlamp. Remove the caps and then pull out the wire harness from the bulb.
Replace the bulb or bulbs and remember that #9006 has the gray base and is for the high beam and #9005 is for the low beam and has the black base. Reconnect the wire harness and replace everything to its original position and now you have a fixed headlamp! Congratulations!

Changing the headlights

This picture shows the rear side of the headlamp assembly. I've circled the access caps to the high & low beam bulbs (they just twist off (counter-clockwise) to access the bulbs. Depending on which engine is in your Tiburon, access is easier if you remove three 10mm mounting bolts to the headlamp assemblies and remove the entire headlamp assemblies (see illustration)
c173c7f.jpg You'll want to disconnect these two connectors .. then remember to reconnect them when you put the assemblies back on.

Hope this helps

Changing driver side headlight bulb

They are simple to change. They are called a bulb capsule and they come out from under the hood.Simply remove the wire connector and give the bulb a gentle twist one way or the other(it will only go one way hence the gentle twist recommendation) pull the bulb out and carefully insert the new one twisting back to the lock position. Try not to touch it.Reinsert the wire connector and that should be it. Low beams are 9006 bulbs and high beams are 9005 bulbs.
