Where is the hole on the lock cylinder that allows the key to turn when pushing on it?

have you tried to turn the steering wheel and then turn the key? when the steering wheel is locked it will not let the key turn, try turning the steering wheel to the right and then turning the key. Sometimes when getting out of the car your leg turns the steering wheel and locks it.

My steering wheel is stuck and when I put my key in it won't turn either. It starts to turn but won't go all the way

hi,it maybe a good idea to remove the steering collum covers to visually inspect it can be the ignition bolt just being loose or the steering lock or ignition it self is on its way out.

try turning the steering wheel and key at the same time or look on the steering wheel collume for a button to push or push the and turn the key. it kinda seems like the lock is stuck or worn out witch means that the ignition switch should be replaced.

I have a 2005 Chevy Trailblazer, and sometimes when the car is in park, the steering wheel will not lock, and then I cannot turn the lock cylinder to start the car. I cannot engage the wheel lock to be...

Make surethat the car is all the way into parkwhen you turn the key off. If yourparking the car on a hill or on an obstruction. you should try to avoid this as the park has too big a load on it as it's parked and you have to force it out of park bending the mechanizim in the collum and the cable and the collum arn't lined up any more. You may have to readjusrt the shoft cable or even replace it. The arm on the collum that pulls and pushes on the shift cable may have to be replaced or bent back. the collum isn't strong enough to take the force of bending it back so it'll need to be removed and bent back in a vise. or replaced with one that's not bent.

The switch will not turn far enough to engage the starter and it is difficult to get the key out of the switch. name is Keith..and it sounds like the pins in the key lock are bent...and the key lock will need to be replaced..but to do that you have to take the steering wheel off and take the steering collum apart..but i would try to squirt WD-40..with the little straw..inside of where the key fits..also..if you have a collum shift automatic transmission..the shifter gets worn and you have to pull the handle up with ya left hand to start the car and to get the key hope my suggestions will help..if not please write back
