SOURCE: 1995 mitsubishi pajero glow plugs

When you turn on the key, a relay engages for a few seconds and heats up the glow plugs. It sounds like the relay is not passing current, which could indicate either corroded contacts, or a bad relay all together. I would guess the former since your panel light indicates the relay is functioning correctly. I would suggest replacing the relay, or possibly if you feel comfortable with it, disassemble the relay and clean the contacts.

SOURCE: How do you change the coolant on a Mitsubishi Colt Model RD 1988

Leave your Radiator Cap on for Preassure and look at your Radiator from Underneath. Should be at the Very bottom facing the Motor. Looks like a Wing Nut. Slowly Loosen this Wing Nut and your Coolant will Drain. The cap is left on to pull the Coolant out of the Block as you do this a Little bit into this you can Take the Radiator Cap loose and it will speed it up.

Wiring diagram for glow plugs

The glow plugs are programmed by the ecu, you will have to take it to a dealer who has the ability to change it if possible, the best thing you could do is turn the ignition on and off a couple of times before you start the engine, that should get the glow plugs hot enough to start.

Colt diesel takes a long time to start. glow plugs and battery are new. some one suggested glowplug relays or the black box. what can i do to check if its any of the two or what do you recommend i do

if the ignition controls the amount of time glow plugs are on for flick the ignition off and on 3-5 times each time letting the glow plug symbol glow untill it turns off then try starting. if its still slow to fire your glow plugs are not working at all. start by backtracing the glow plugs from the adjoining bar back to wherever it comes from for breaks, then replace your glow plug relay in the fuse box usually.

if its manual glowing just glow it for 10-12 seconds and try.if its not firing then the glows arent getting the power they need
