Question about Cars & Trucks

Open Question

I have fault p0001 on my focus tdci

I know P001 is the fuel volume regulator. I 've been looking at the air flow where the fuel /air ratio regulator is.The plug in wires going to it were smoothered in oil. I just don't know where the oil is coming from. Will drying out the plug end fix the problem? I am having oil pulled in from breather pipe towards turbo . I don't know if I also have a MAF switch problem

SOURCE: Throttle body on jetta 4 2.0, I've replaced air flow meter, fuel pump, throttle body and temp switch, it's now reporting a fault saying signal to large.

sounds like throttle body not fitted correctly or needs adjustment of idle sensor or idle speed control

My 2002 kia sportage is reading code p0001 can anyone tell me the what this means

P0001 Fuel Volume Regulator Control Circuit/Open
However, this may not actually be correct on your vehicle, as seemingly error code P0001 is not used by many manufacturer's.. it's a 'generic' code.

Here's a couple of links that may be of help:

Out of the box, I'd say that you have a problem with the fuel management system. However, there's a good chance that it's something simple and inexpensive like a clogged fuel filter or water in the fuel tank.

Mechanic friend of mine says that the part that regulates the fuel to air ratio needs to be replaced but i dont know what its called

Well, the problem is this..... There are many sensors that feed information to the ECU (Engine Control Unit) but here are the normal problems that effect the Air/Fuel Ratio with the GM Products but your Mechanic Friend may be wrong and would be more beneficial to know what exactly it is doing

a. Mass Air Flow Sensor
b. Air Temperature
c. Idle Air Control Valve

other common problems with this model include
Leaking upper intake
Leaking Vacuum Hose or a Vacuum leak in a hose

the list goes on and on so until I had more information, I do not know what else to offer at this time.

A P2074 DTC is the Manifold Absolute Pressure/Mass Air Flow-Throttle Position Correlation at Higher Load. I wuold start with this one first because it came up first and there may be more than one problem.Good Luck.
