Question about 1991 Lincoln Town Car
I have a 1991 lincoln towncar. The air pump is working but after a few minutes the pump turns off and the warning light comes on. On cold freezing nights, the next morning the car will lose all air to the rear bags. This has happen maybe 2 out of 8 times. When I took the pump out and removed the dryer. Rusty water would come out of the dryer. Could it be that the condensation in the dry is freezing and the air can't pass through to the air lines? The dash light does come on even if it is warm outside. Is there a restriction in the Dryer? Or is there something else along the airlines that could be restricting the air flow?
I would suggest replacing the drier as it sounds like its had enough.
The Venting is controlled by two Solonoids*sp that open to let the air in or out depending what its being told to, otherwise its just from drier to the bags.
If there leaking the fast you may need to replace them, there not ment to last forever.
If your pumping the suspension from flat after it goes down it can cause damage to the bags repumping them full as its alot of strain on them.
