Question about 2004 GMC Envoy
The thermostat is located in a water neck on the driver's side of the engine below, and slightly behind the alternator. put a big drain pan under the vehicle. The thermostats I've seen are integral with housing.
Will set a P0128 code I believe when t-stat is defective, and will need to be cleared, if that is set in ECM. Make sure to run engine afterwards and keep filling coolant until all air is removed from system and thermostat opens. Hose will feel hot.
