All data dot com show s it all.

tell is what pulley, you did not.
there is engine
p/s pump
water pump
alt
A/c compressor
or in some cases and idler pulley that runs NUTTN
be specific and anwers get way better, or
post a photo with finger pointing.
to work on cars , you need to be able to ID each major part on the engine, or snap photos.
or go to alldata dot com and see it all,

Unless something has bent this should not be an issue. The only other time I have run into something like this is when the tension is not correct on the belt. If that doesn't have the spring loaded tension pulley you will find an adjustment on the alternator bracket. If it does have a spring loaded system then you need to replace that spring in the tension arm.

Alternator failed, worn out brushes. repaired and bench tested ok but when reinstalled in car does not charge engine check and brake and battery check light remain illuminated on dashboard

I had a problem like this. My alternator tested good, but the no charge light came on a lot.

My pulley had a wobble, It looked difficult to replace the bearing so I replaced the alternator
with a second hand one from the junkyard that was in good condition. Then the no charge
light didnt come on anymore.

Check the alternator pulley while the car is running and look for a slight wobble of the pulley.
Also, remove the belt and pull up and down on the pulley to check for movement. Im not certain
this is your problem, but it sounds very much like the problem i had with the same symptom.

And have the battery tested at your local auto parts store.

Pulley broke off powersteering pump

Unfortunately, if you don't have a machine shop, you will have to replace the entire power steering pump instead of just the pulley.

But you should also check ALL the pulleys to make sure that something else was not damaged when your pulley came off. Check for any wobble in the shafts, especially the water pump. If you have any wobble then that component should be replaced also.

Good Luck!

Can you get to the alternator through the right wheel well?

On this car some alternators are at the top some are at the bottom depending on the engine. You can't get at it thru the wheel well but you can get them from the top of the engine compartment ,or from under the car. The main thing to remember is that after you remove the serpentine belt the alternator is removed by turning the pulley in order to get your wrench thru the holes in the pulley, and onto the holding bolts. I have heard to many stories of the plastic pulley's being broken because wrenches were forced in behind the pulley's. The other wires can easily be removed. Remember disconnect your battery. Please let me know if I've helped you ,and don't forget to vote. GOOD LUCK .

Passenger side underneath the hood is now smoking and making a weird noise that is constantly loudly scretching when the car is still and when it is in motion. I lifted the hood, and it looks like smoke is...

That smoke is coming from the belt because, i think your alternator pulley is locked up.Take the belt off and see if you can spin the alternator pulley freely by hand.If it can't spin freely replace alternator. These alternators have a bearing in the center that sometimes seizes up.

There is a rattling noise

Hi my name is Allen!

Let's work together and fix this problem!

Here what I need you to do first!

Remove the splash gard behind the right front wheel, this is what keeps water and other things front hitting the belts that drive the A/C pulley and alternator pulley, etc.

Next: grab one pulley at a time and see if it wobbles, if it does then the part behind that pulley will need to be replaced.

Question: Do you have the 3.0 liter or the 3.3 liter engine. I'm asking because a common problem with the 3.3 liter is the water pump bearings go bad and it will wobble causing a rattle noise.

Contact me here at FixYa and let me know what you found.

I am honored to help, and we will work together until we solve your problem!
