check the fuse under the hood, you may have to disconnect batterty to do so, this fuse goes and is hundreds of dollars cheaper than if it is something else~! If the ABS IS broken and you are comfortable without it, just remove the fuse and the whole ABS system is disabled leaving you standard non-abs braking without doing any harm.

I had the same problem my car. It started once in a while until the light would not go off. My husband looked at it and he said the wire on the antilock brake bearing hub corroded and came off. Maybe yours is starting to corrode. My husband said to tell you that there are two wires that come out of the back of the bearing hub. He soddered it together on mine and I hav not had a problem since.

SOURCE: rear wheel bearing hub replacement on a 2002 pontiac grand prix

It is a tight fit, a few wacks with a hammer should loosen it. Hit on the back side of the flange where the wheel mounts, try to drive it away from the car, after making sure you have removed all the bolts.

Sounds like there is a problem with one of the wheel speed sensors on your vehical, look under your car where the axle and hub meet make sure the trigger wheel for the abs sensor is free if dirt or mud buildup, if the trigger wheel is dirty the sensor wont be able to calculate wheel speed thus throwing on your abs light on your dash, if the trigger wheels on all 4 wheels are clean and free of road debrise you will need to get the computer scanned to find out which wheel sensor is malfunctioning on which wheel and further diagnose it from there...

Abs light and brake light are on. also service

You can test the wheel speed sensors by unhooking the connectors and put ohmeter test leads on the sensor terminals should read around 1100-1600 ohms also the connectors themselves were bad for wires breaking inside the insulation at the connectors from flexing when the wheel is turned back and forth..Note excessive wheel bearing noise from bad bearings have also been known for interferring with clean abs signal also causing abs codes good luck

Here are the major components for the ABS system. The most common problem I see is the wheel bearing becoming loose. The wheel speed sensor is located in the wheel bearing.
