Question about 1996 Geo Tracker 2 Door
The a/c works ok if i jump the compressor
Some Trackers(Sidekicks) have fuses in the AC wiring harness behind the glovebox. 1996's might be new enough to have the fuse actually in the the fusebox. How is the charge in the system?

you need to place a jumper to freeze the Ignition timing.

this is common.
it is caused because NO ON ever changes the cable at 100k miles.
it then wears a groove inside the cable and jams where you cant see.
(got my car dirt cheap cuz no one could figure this out)
the next thing to happen (toss coin) is the fire wall cracks or the clutch pedal spline strips.
full story here,
now you know the why , so now correct all the damaged caused by a $45 cable.
all parts are at suzuki , every single one.

It needs a fluid change, and filter,in the transmission, also, add a additive called LUBEGUARD from napa auto parts, when you ask for the additive,be sure to get the one for gm,this additive keeps the valve body slick, and moving, this is the problem, your filter, and ,or,the fluid is dirty, and causing hydraulic problems, and valves to stick in the valve body in the transmission.
