Why does the engine revs drop too low and sometimes stalling when I engage any gear?


This can be either an engine management issue (bad idle air control) or a transmission issue if an automatic trans (torque converter lock up problem). Idle air control can often be cleaned so = cheap fix. Trans problem not so easy.

When engine get hot, engine stop, when engine temperature drop, motor start


I just fixed this problem o my car, and it costs no more than $20 to fix... replace your thermostat. What happens is that the car reaches a certain temperature and the coolant flows to keep the car cool, well if the thermostat doesn't open at that certain temperature, the car runs how and eventually turns off; causing you to wait until it cools down to be able to turn it back on. The fix took no more than 15 minutes and the car runs great now.

Oil pressure drops to zero at idle. Check engine light comes on. Codes are 11,12,54. Had crank and cam sensors replaced. Wants to die when problem occurs. restarts easy. Do not hear engine clatter when...


Locate the oil pressure sending unit and get a pressure test for yourself. If it is okay, replace oil pressure sending unit. If the pressure is 0. Replace the oil pump. Probably not 0 because engine would seize.

Making a deep clicking noise then oil presue dropped then engine quit


Sounds like a lower engine bearing seized up. The most cost effective and quickest way to fix would be to drop a new/used engine in.

Oil pressure gauge shows low / high / middle changed sensor did


Hello mb4494: My name is Roger and I will help you. If by changing the oil pressure sending unit the problem did not change. I would perform a oil pressure test. This is done by removing the oil pressure sensor and inserting a oil pressure gauge. This can be done by yourself or by a repair shop. This needs to be done on a cold engine. Start the engine and observe the oil pressure cold.as the engine warms up observe the pressure. The pressure will drop off as the engine warms up.Should the oil pressure drop below 10 to 12 PSI. then you have internal engine trouble. More then likely a bearing problem. Try dropping the truck into gear and see what the pressure drops off to. Again if the pressure drops below 10 to 12 PSI. you have a problem. I would also check to make sure you have the correct oil switch. a truck with a oil light uses a oil pressure switch. with a gauge you would use a oil pressure sending unit. ECT - Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor

The engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor (Figure 27) is a thermistor device in which resistance changes with temperature. The electrical resistance of a thermistor decreases as the temperature increases, and increases as the temperature decreases. The varying resistance affects the voltage drop across the sensor terminals and provides electrical signals to the PCM corresponding to temperature.
Thermistor-type sensors are considered passive sensors. A passive sensor is connected to a voltage divider network so that varying the resistance of the passive sensor causes a variation in total current flow.
Voltage that is dropped across a fixed resistor in a series with the sensor resistor determines the voltage signal at the PCM. This voltage signal is equal to the reference voltage minus the voltage drop across the fixed resistor.
The ECT measures the temperature of the engine coolant. The sensor is threaded into an engine coolant passage. The ECT sensor is similar in construction to the IAT sensor.

Oil in air filter


If the engine has a PCV valve it may be at fault causing the problem of oil in the air filter. It could also be the cause of the RPM drop.
