SOURCE: HI I have a Mitsubishi galant 98 ...while I was

Don't shot the messenger but without tranny fluid your transmission may have cooked itself. I hope I am wrong but I expect you'll need to rebuild or replace the tranny.

Wish I could offer better news,
Tom

Ford f 350 standard transmission just stopped going had the trams mission rebuilt but still won't go does the clutch just break without slipping or other signs of failure

What do you mean it just stopped going? Can you not move the truck at all, or can you not shift gears? Did you replace the clutch while you had the transmission out? Can you put the transmission in gear with the engine running?

So I was driving my Ford Taurus 2002 down the street and out of no where the acceleration just stop. It idles fine, there was no indication the transmission was going out no noise no nothing, it work

Yes, usually do give some sign, but not always. Still it could be an electrical problem, rather than a mechanical faillure, since the shifts are electronically controlled. You probably need a shop or transmission shop to diagnose it.

Add fluid transmission

TRANSMISSION FLUID

Checking automatic transmission fluid

The 5R55N transmission does not have a transmission fluid dipstick.

Refer to your scheduled maintenance guide for scheduled intervals for

fluid checks and changes. Your transmission does not consume fluid.

However, the fluid level should be checked if the transmission is not

working properly, i.e., if the transmission slips or shifts slowly or if you

notice some sign of fluid leakage.

Transmission fluid should be checked and, if required, fluid
should be added by a qualified technician.

Coming to stop sign by putting break gear slips then return to park move to drive runs. second as i drive in curves slips but as give gas enough continues running.

Just to make sure I got this right. If you come to a stop, the car won't pull again unless you put it in park? Then, if you start into a curve, the transmission starts to slip unless you give it more gas? This could be signs of a bad torque converter, failing fluid pump (not as likely), or burnt/low transmission fluid level. Check the transmission fluid after the vehicle has been driven (warm engine), leave it running, and on a level surface. Check the level twice and take the lowest reading.

My 2008 kia optima gear 2 incorrect ratio

You likely have a Check Engine light throwing a P0732 fault. This can be attributed by 1 or more of the following:

-Low transmission fluid level
- Dirty transmission fluid
- Shift solenoids
- Transmission mechanical problems
- Transmission hydraulic control circuit

Start with the transmission fluid. If it's full, check for signs of wear. It should be purple. If it's brown and/or is giving off a burning smell, it needs to be changed. If the fluid is full and in good condition, the problem is with the transmission itself. It could be an adjustment, a bad module, or a sign that the transmission is on it's way out. Best of luck with your problem and thank you for using Fixya.

With no signs or symptoms my transmission fluid began leaking last night and engine surging? what is causing this?

With the MAJOR loss of transmission fluid your vehicle will surge and "buck"
DO NOT drive your vehicle UNTIL you find out where the leak is coming from.
If you drive without the proper amount of transmission fluid YOU WILL RUIN the transmission.
Wipe all fuid off the transmission, and see if you can locate leak, WITHOUT engine running.
Please let me know.

Hi Saya,

I don't know if you were able to see my response on your other post. This is in case you didn't.

Were there any warning signs before it completely quit?
Any other symptoms?

When trying to diagnose problems remotely, the more detail the better.

In the meantime,
  • Check the fluid level. Low levels can cause the symptoms you describe.
  • Then re-check the diagnostic codes for changes.
If the solenoid code remains, the solution requires the opening of the transmission and a significant expertise in transmission repair.

Without the specific training, even skilled mechanics consider repair on automatic transmissions to be one of the 'Black Arts' and will refer the job to a pro. I have to give you the same advice.

The good news is, of all the things that can go wrong, the cost of this item is on the low end of the scale.

hi there, no you are not going to need a new transmission. what is happening is probably one or two things. the transmission fluid is low or the transmission control solenoid is acting up. good luck and appreciate your question
