In the middle of the valve cover , pull the cover ., this is actually the coil's an ignition module . Should have four or so ten millimeter bolts . An electrical connector with 4,5 ,or 6 wires will be attached on driver side of valve cover .

You have coil on plug ignition, you have to remove coil to see the spark plug.

The coils have been replaced and yet the rough idle and misfire persists?

Other things to check:
  1. Spark plug wires;
  2. Fouling of spark plugs;
  3. Fuel condition (may have contamination);
  4. Static timing;
  5. Readout of codes from ECU;
  6. Pressure at the fuel rail (to rule out fuel delivery issues).

I changed the spark plugs on my holden captiva took for test run. Now its idling rough when stationery.

Hi,if it was running fine before you put the spark plugs in just take them back out and with a feeler gage check the clearence of the spark plug it should then run ok.
(when the spark plug makes its jerny it gets thrown arrond a bit so always check the clearances,all the best.

How do I replace auto transmission fluid on captiva 2.0 D 2008?

Can't be sure for this particular car, but there should be a dipstick coming out of the transmission. This is often near the firewall, and is a bright color. The opening of the dipstick is also often large enough to allow for the transmission fluid to be filled from there. The drain plug will be under the car on the bottom of the transmission of course.
