Question about 2005 Scion xA
I went out tonight to start my scion xa and the three lights stayed on check engine light, vsc, and trac off. I dont drive the car everywere but I drive it everyday without fail at least once around the neighborhood because I bought it as a second vehichle when needed. It has been raining everyday here in Houston Texas as usual and our yard is wet(not sure if that has something to do with it) just wondering why, it drove fine yesturday. An it is driving fine tonight, any suggestions would be much appreciated thank you

When a check engine light is triggered on toyotas "scions" the stability controle disables itself. So abs and vsc light will remain on till check engine light is fixed. Scan the car with any hand scanner or a free one at advance and post the code for more info.

Probably a sensor is getting wet, triggering the ECU with the wrong information, therefor turning on some of the dashboard lights on.
Sometimes, a little bit of grease on the sensor keep the sensor from getting wet. If there is no light on in the dashboard when its dry, then that's your problem.

On these cars and Toyotas also, if the engine computer sees an emissions problem, it will illuminate all of these lights. As long as the check engine light isn't flashing and it's not running funny, you should be ok to finish your trip. Keep in mind the traction control may not work if you were to get into a situation where it could be helpful. Recommend checking the gas cap to be sure it is tight, it should click 3 times minimum.
