If installed properly, it should be accesible from the front without opening the hood. Check the grille area, or just under the bumper. If you are sure there is one installed - (not a factory option) look on the side of the engine block for a wire similar to this...

It is installed into the engine core drain plug.

2002 intrepid 2.7 Im getting no crank from the starter and I dont hear the fuel pump kicking on when the ignition key is turned on, I do get power to the radio and dash, Ive checked fuses and replaced...

Under the hood, there should be a fuse block. Remove the cover and there will be a 20amp(i think) fuse that protects the fuel pump and starter circuit. I've run into this problem many times and every time it ends up being the starter that blows the fuse.

I just got a 2002 chrysler sebring and i don't know how/where to plug into the block heater. I can't find where i plug in the extension cord.

Most block heaters have the heater plug routed out through the grill, but if yours is not visible open the hood and look for the bottom radiator hose, as this is where the heater itself should be located. You may have to crawl under the front of the car itself and look around by the radiator. Also, block heaters are optional equipment, your car may not have one.

Block heater

Thje only block heaters I know of are the ones installed by the customers. First thing you would see is an electrical household cord hanging under the engine somewhere. The heater is installed where a soft plugs is used on an engine. This would be in the side of an engine block.

If you don't have one have a garage put one in. You don't want to take a chance this winter and not have it done right.

The Heater Cord

Heater "core", by some chance? Try a Haynes or similar manual on follow it spot on to get this changed. I'm going to assume that you have a leak around that area....accordianman
