Question about Cars & Trucks

Open Question

My one side low beam headlight on my 1999 379 Pete will only come on if I put my high beam on. There is no current to the low beam unless I have the high beam on. There are no bad relays as I switched those around and it does the same thing. I checked all the wiring and haven't found any bad spots. What the heck could it be?? O and its not the headlamp either because I tried putting a brand new one in and it does the same thing.

SOURCE: I have a 2006 PT Cruiser that the left low beam

This is a legitimate problem with light bulbs on Chrysler products.. The best resolution is to purchase a used module from a salvage yard to replace yours which is very much cheaper to do

SOURCE: 2005 Ford Focus ZX3 SES, the blue high beam

It sounds like you are confused about how your headlamp system is supposed to work. The DRL does not run on the High beam circuit, it runs on the low beam circuit. The fog lamps are supposed operate with the park lamps and also with the low beams, not the high beams. From your description, I would say that your system is operating as designed and you are having trouble telling High from Low. (Don't feel bad, that is why high beam indicators were invented in the first place.)

Did you check the ground wire for that light? Using your voltmeter, put the positive probe on the battery terminal and your negative lead to the pin/socket that provides ground for the lamp. If you are reading 0 volts, you need to check the ground wire for proper grounding.

Have headlight problem 2002 chevy malibu v-6 on the dim side have electria current on both wires to the blub bright beams function normal

if you have power to both headlight plugs for each low and high beam filaments and the ground is good as you say the high beams function normally then you either have bad low beam bulb filaments, poor or dirty connection or you have a daytime running headlight relay on the car and that is the problem with the low beam lights.yes the high beams will work but not low beams if it is the relay.

Driver side headlight is out, high beam works

Neither low beam works. Both high beams are fine. Any idea as to what the low beam problem is? Prior to this, the driver side low beam would not come on unless I hit the bulb. The right was okay. Now neither low beam works.
