Hi,
thanks for you answer about my 96 nissan setnra with an emission control problem. the thing is that here in the netherlands they say that they do not have the right software to install on the machine who can "read and measur"my car.
How can I get the software I need? It's software so that maybe means I can order it somewhere in the states, pay for it and than download it to a disc or something. How does that work?
I really hope you have an answer, I'm getting somewhat desparate from all the No's in the netherlands while your answer is an easy way to fix this.
kind regards,
Anneke Pieterse

Hi,
My sentra is imported from usa in 1998. I'm from The Netherlands in Europe. Car was problemfree but now it starts to stotter between 40 and 60 miles and the checklight was on, reading my nissanbook it told me that it was an emission control problem. Took it to 2 different repair centers and they told me it was not possible to measure it because they needed americam software. Finally found a guy who was able to check the needed values and told me it was the airpressuresystem. He fixed it. Took my car home and after 40 miles he started doing it again. The checklight went on again the day after. Funny thing is that when I take te overdrive of ( button on the clutch) the car seems to drive more smoothly. I really hope you can help me. Love my car and in my country its the only Nissan Sentra, so proud of it. mechanics here are shy tot do something beside maintance because they don't know much about this type and charge me alot of money for nothing. My milage is 169.000. Every year he is tested on performance en gets the service its needs, new oil other fluids etc. Hope for an answer, thanks. Regards, Anneke Pieterse

you should have the mechanic change your air to gas mixture cause it sounds like its not getting enough fuel in that speed range. it is a simple procedure that they can do with a diagnostic machine. because when you turn the overdrive off your raising your rpms which in turn sends my fuel into the motor.
