OIL CHANGE MESSAGE DOES NOT RESET

I recently changed the oil on my truck (2008 F250, gas engine). About three weeks later, the message center displayed "CHANGE OIL SOON". Then a few days later "OIL CHANGE REQUIRED". I'm able to reset this message when i start the engine, but it reapears averytime i start it up. My oil pressure is fine, no leaks, and no red warning light. Any help in reseting this would be appreciated

2009 F250 Oil Change Warning. Operations Manual says 7500 mile interval. The display warning occurs at 3000 miles. Solved by resetting to 100% and changing oil at the next warning ... two intervals of 3000 miles. Can the warning be set to occur at 6000 intervals??

Take it to Advance Auto, Auto Zone, or O'Rielly's...they'll all read the codes for free. It will give you a good indication of what caused the "CEL" and you'll find this forum very helpful with regard to how to correct it.

Change oil light stays on

Using the black push button/rod, you know the one where you can switch to see trip A trip B etc?
keep pushing it til you get to the check engine part then it will cycle through several things. when you find the right place it will read "if new oil hold reset" at this point just hold reset. That is the black push button/rod.

If this don't work, try it again, sometimes it may miss...

In your owners manual there is a procedure listed for resetting thr oil change reminder/maintenance light. Some vehicles you turn key on..do not start it.. step on gas pedal all the way to the floor 3 times... then key off. others haver u hold the trip odometer reset button when u turn key on.
It varies from manufacture to manufacturer.

I have a 2008 chevy malibu and i just had my oil change..how do you reset the oil sensor to 100%?

  1. Display "OIL LIFE RESET" on the Driver Information Center (DIC).
  2. Press and hold the "ENTER" button for at least one second. An "ACKNOWLEDGED" display message will appear for three seconds or until the next button is pressed. This will tell you the system has been reset.
  3. Turn the key to "LOCK/OFF". If the "CHANGE OIL SOON" message comes back on when you start your vehicle, the engine oil life system has not reset. Repeat the procedure.

You have to reset it, I honestly am not sure about how for your particular model but I had a Grand Prix and several Pickups about that year that required turning the key off then back on and hitting accelerator pedal three times as I remember. Your owners manual are Goggle search for "rest Change Engine Oil 1997 Cadillac will find you the specific info you need for free. I hope I have helped you and Merry Christmas!
