1 Answer

I have a 1997 Mercury Grand Marquis and my headlights and interior lights do not work any longer. The day before I noticed my turning signals were no longer blinking they were making a surgeing noise but stayed lit on the instrument pannel. The very next day the headlights and interior lights quit working.I checked the fuses and they were good. What are the next steps I should consider?

Have you checked the headlight switch? That would cause the same problem. Best wishes to you.

Have you checked the headlight relay? That surging noise that you mentioned got me thinking that a relay going out makes a sound like that. Just wondering how your doing with it too. Take care.

Flasher relay in a 98 mercury grand marquis?

The fuse block the relay is located in is behind the knee bolster, the trim panel under the steering column, left of the steering column underneath the dash. Common source of problems if that does not fix it is the Light Control Module ( LCM), turn signal switch unit, headlight switch.

My auto lamp works but the rear lights and dash illumination does not. All fuses are good.

It's the terminals for the tail and dash lights on your headlight switch. It is a common problem though Mercury never seems to have addressed it. I've had to change my switch out 5 times in 2.5 years.

1994 Grand Marquis, marker, tail and dash lights not working. Brake and turn signals work, fuses are all good, checked them all. Worked on passenger side door window, removed door panel, don't think this...

Your light switch is bad. The switch controls what you listed plus headlights, obviously. I've had this problem before. headlights would be on, but nothing else.

Need to change flasher relay in 1997 Mercury Grand marquis . where is it?

From the 1997 Mercury Grand Marquis 4.6L SFI 8cyl repair manual, the Flasher is located behind left side of instrument panel. The turn signal and emergency flashers are attached to the interior fuse panel. They are replaced in the same manner as the fuses and circuit breakers.

Turn signals don't flash when braking 99 grand marquis

Check all earth wires on all lights.
most lights in cars run in series so if u loose one you loose the other mainly caused by bad earth on globe holders or corrosion where bulb sits.
little sand paper goes a long way.
