When you open your hood there is in the right back a coverd box and on it, it does say distributor power box. Open that and you have some fuses in the front they are small and middle are bigger and then the rest in the back are fuses.
The middle medium ones are the ones that are your problem I replaced the one that was on the right but I would change it one at a time. They are about $4.00 or so not much. Sorry for the wait I am getting the hang of this and I did not know that I could get replied back.

Make sure that both or all your keys are Ford and not cut from a hardware store or someplace else. You may have one bad key with a bad chip in it or a key that is not programmed. I have seen this many times. Try your keys one at a time and see if you can find the bad one. Go to Ford or a locksmith that can program them and it should be fine.

My buick won't crank.....getting battery but no juice to the starter....we can crank it by jumping the solenoid but not with the ignition..is there a starter relay I need to know about

Hi Danielle, Im AL the owner of Big As Auto Repair

Yes, there is a starter relay in the fuse box under the hood. Here's what you do! Swap that relay with another relay in the box that looks the same, if it starts then you know its the relay. If it still doesn't start then its either a problem with the ignition system or the theft system. Hope this helps and please send people to my auto-repair-website at: http://www.bigasautorepair.com/

Where is the fuel injector relay fuse on a 98 ford expedition

In the Power Distribution Box-the fuse relay block under hood- it's on the driver's side.

it is fuse # 24, a 30 amp green fuse. This fuse is only hot in run or start, so with key on, the fuse sends power to the PCM Power Relay (also in the power distrib. box), turning the relay on so power goes to the fuel injectors, among other things..

I bought a brand new fuel pump and now im hearin a clickin sound from da hood where da fuel pump fuse at or is it the relay and my car start sometimes

Most likely it is the fuel pump relay. It is located in the high amp fuse box under the hood and there should be a diagram on the fuse box cover or inside the fuse box itself.

HOW TO CHECK THE FUEL PUMP AND FUEL PUMP RELAY

The fuel pump relay is in the power distribution box in the engine compartment under the hood.
Find the box with the fuses and relays in it then go to the # 5 relay – this is the fuel pump also in location # 9 there should be a 20 amp fuse – this is the fuel pump relay/rap module for the `98 Ford Explorer.
Inside the car on the passenger area near the floorboard and behind the kick board towards the right front passenger area us the inertia switch. The button is counter sunk and should be pushed down if conditions are safe. Sometimes people kick this area and set off this safety switch. This is a ‘cut off’ switch made to stop the flow of fuel in case of an accident.

Hope this helps – please rate me

98 explorer fog light always on

reference your owners manual for relay location, if you do not have one you can download it at www.fleet.ford.com , the relay for the fog lights should be under hood in power distribution box, ford relay are notorious for hanging up in closed and open positions, pull the relay and see if the lights go out? if so replace relay, try the same for interior lights, that relay should be inside in the fuse box. hope this helps, let me know

1994 ford explorer not staying on

Did you try the fuse panel under the hood. I have a 1994 Explorer with over 100,000 miles and it would do the same when I was driving it would sometimes just shut off. Check the EEC (Electronic Emission Control) Fuse (30 AMP) under the hood and see if it's blown, I replaced mine with a 40 AMP fuse and it worked.

Engine no start

You will need to check the fuel pressure. You will have a connection on the fuel line to the motor under the hood. No fuel pressure indicates one of three problems. Fuse in fuse box, relay in relay box under the hood or fuel pump located in fuel tank.
