S (Nissan Vehicle Immobilizer System-NATS) has the following immobilizer functions: Since only NVIS (NATS) ignition keys, whose ID nos. have been registered into the ECM and IMMU of NVIS (NATS), allow the engine to run, operation of a stolen vehicle without a NVIS (NATS) registered key is prevented by NVIS (NATS). That is to say, NVIS (NATS) will immobilize the engine if someone tries to start it without the registered key of NVIS (NATS). All of the originally supplied ignition key IDs have been NVIS (NATS) registered. If requested by the vehicle owner, a maximum of five key IDs can be registered into the NVIS (NATS) components. The security indicator lamp blinks when the ignition switch is in "OFF" or "ACC" position. Therefore, NVIS (NATS) warns outsiders that the vehicle is equipped with the system. When NVIS (NATS) detects trouble, the security indicator lamp lights up while ignition key is in the "ON" position. NVIS (NATS) trouble diagnoses, system initialization and additional registration for other NVIS (NATS) ignition key IDs must be carried out using CONSULT-II hardware and CONSULT-II NVIS (NATS) software. Regarding the procedures for NVIS (NATS) initialization and NVIS (NATS) ignition key ID registration, refer to CONSULT-II OPERATION MANUAL IVIS/NVIS. When servicing a malfunction of the NVIS (indicated by lighting up of Security Indicator Lamp) or registering another NVIS ignition key ID no., it is necessary to re-register original key identification. Therefore, be sure to receive ALL KEYS from vehicle owner. System Composition NIEL0174 The immobilizer function of the NVIS (NATS) consists of the following: NVIS (NATS) ignition key NVIS (NATS) immobilizer control unit (IMMU) located in the ignition key cylinder ECM Security indicator lamp.

Hello can some tell me wat code is this p1614 on a 2004 nissan infinity qx56 Thanks!.

According to Nissan, the error code is for the NATS,(Nissan Anti Theft System). This usually has to do with the smart chip that is in the key. Does the vehicle start ok or do have Check Engine Light come on? When you got the code, did you have a reader that could clear the codes? The reason I ask is that if you had the check engine light come on and then he cleared the codes then it should have gone out. Another question is, do you have the other smart key that came with the vehicle? Also does the error code still come on after it has been cleared and then the other key used?
These are just some questions to help start the troubleshooting process. Hope this helps..

What is service p1614

that code is for NATS system issue (nissan imobilizer). have you used unregistered key in the ignition?? cant do that. your keys need to be all registered to the vehicle. if you are surelly using keys that are registered than you may have an issue with other component in the NATS system such as antenna or amplifier, which is part of the antenna assembly. Have you done any steering column repair to the vehicle?? because the antenna is located just inside of the steering wheel comunm cover. its right around the ignition cylinder, where you insert your key to start the vehicle. That part may be an issue. does the vehicle start or does it just crank and not start??
