It will run about the same, there is a good web site we deal with that sells conversion kits or the air components needed to repair your car, we use them all the time. There pricing is good and also have all parts needed. Your car may just need air bags, but have run into many cars that the air bags had been leaking for a while and were left not repaired causing the air compressor to run so much that it overheated and cooked the compressor and relay. This is hard to say on yours without looking at it. if the air shocks air leaking then you will need to start with that and then if the car does not lift then you will need to check the fuse and relay, if there are good or replaced and still no air is made then compressor will need replacing. http://www.arnottindustries.com/part_CADILLAC_Air_Suspension_Parts_yid6_pid35.htmlthe compressor is 175.00 and the two shocks are 275.00. I did not see a conversion kit for this car. take a look at site and see if you can locate one. good day.
It wont work because the sponginess in the air shocks is due to the compressability of air. The silicone, being a liquid, will not compress. If you've given up on the air system, why not just replace the shocks with some good gas shocks?
Replacing your Cadillac DeVille DTS electronic
shocks with these reliable non-electronic shocks is a simple installation procedure. Cadillac air
suspension fails because of rubber dry rotting, and then leaking. Your
air suspension compressor will eventually fail because of this. Cadillac
shocks in the front fail because of the seals in the Cadillac shock
wearing down over time. They eventually leak, losing its dampening
ability needed for a safe and smooth ride. Try cadillac dealership for a little more info.
Something is broken or badly worn. There's a lot of potential causes so you'll need to get someone to look and make a proper diagnosis, but most commonly it will be due to worn or perished suspension bushings. If so, the suspension will need to be dismantled in order to fit new ones.
It can also be due to corrosion where the suspension mounts to the bodyshell or to the chassis, but this is all useless conjecture until you get someone to take a look ASAP. The fault won't fix itself, and will only get more expensive as it over-stresses other parts like springs, dampers, wheel bearings, tyres and it can result in unsafe handling and braking instability.
ALL YOU NEED NEW AIR SHOCKS. THAT WHY CAR IS BOUNCING.IF YOUR AIR RIDE CONTROL LIGHT ON YOU HAVE PROBLEM IN THE ROAD SENSING SUSPENSION CONTROL OR THE AIR COMPRESSOR NOT WORKING. YOU PAID THEM TO FIX CAR IF THEY CANT. GET MONEY BACK TAKE CAR TO DEALERSHIP. VECHICLES LIKE CADILLACS MERCEDES BMW JAGUAR VOLKSWAGON AND VOLVO THESE ARE SPECIAL CARS NOT EVERY BODY CAR SERVICE OR WORK ON THEM. THEY ARE EXPENSIVE HAVE HI TECH PCM ELECTRONIC CONTROL SYSTEMS ON BOARD.
You can spend half that money and go with a non air conversion kit from Strutmasters. With these air rides its not for sure that by changing the air shock that you will fix your car. If you car has cracks in the air lines that can cause a big issue too. When we replaced the ride on my moms Deville, it was an easy switch to this non air conversion kit. No more low rider!
Converting from the air ride suspension to the passive coil spring suspension will eliminate this problem. To fix your air system you will have to purchase the parts directly from the dealer which means the prices will be severely inflated. Check out Strutmasters website at: http://www.strutmasters.com/Cadillac-Eldorado-Air-Suspension-Rear-Conversion-R-p/-cad-r5ns-el.htm My Uncle converted his Cadillac Deville two years and has only had positive things to say about the effects! I hope this advice was of some help.
