Question about 2004 Mazda MPV
The cabin air doesnt get hot enough in cold weather. the gauge reads normal temperature for the engine. I drive for an hour and its still just blows low heat. The heat meter is all the way to the right clock wise. If I open the vent the cabin feels like I have the a/c on. A/C button is not on. I see other people have the same problem but no solution. Thermostat might be the problem but other blogs say that this didnt fix the problem. Is this just a common problem with the 2004 Mazda mpv. What should I do without spending money unecesarily.
If changing the thermostat didn't work, have the heater control valve checked, it may not be opening all the way to let the coolant circulate thru the heater core fully.

I HAVE A MAZDA BONGO 2.5 DIESEL 1996 MODEL. THE TEMPERATURE GUAGE DOES NOT MOVE AT ALL. THE HEATER WHEN TURNED ON ONLY BLOWS LUKE WARM AIR. ALSO WHEN I FUEL THE BONGO TO FULL , THE FUEL GUAGE GOES UP AND DOWN REGARDLESS WHATS IN THE TANK. I T WOULD BE VERY APPRECIATED. THANKS VERY MUCH.

We had the same problem a few months ago. As it turns out there is a cabin filter behind the glove box that was seriously dirty and plugged. We removed it and my wife cleaned it with soap and water...and now our heat has returned!
