Question about 2004 Chrysler Sebring

1 Answer

2003 chrysler sebring conv. 2.7 flex fuel, car was running and and all of a sudden it died and would not start. Engine will start if Cam posistion sensor is unplugged but runs rough, did notice sludge when oil cap removed, cleaned oil pan and pick up tube was clogged, now oil is flowly freely, could the sensor be the only problem now? if something like a rocker arm broke due to no lube would that affect cam sensor from not working.

2001 sebring 2.7 with 2004 stratus 2.7 no start ??

you must use the cam gear for the cam sensor and the flex plate from your original engine. if you do that it will fire right up.

Engine will turn over freely but will not start. engine was running when it sputtered and died and will not restart on a 2000 Crysler Sebring Coupe, 2.5, 2 door. May have ran out of gas. added 5 gal but...

see if the cam is turning when trying to start the engine (look through the oil filler cap) if its not, you may have a broken timing belt (and engine damage) if it wasn't empty on the fuel gauge I doubt it ran out of gas.

2005 chrysler starts then dies...gas tank is almost full. help...what can this be?

Sounds like either a fuel pump problem, clogged injectors, clogged fuel filters, or a tune up issue. Start fixing the cheapest stuff first - the clogged fuel filters and injectors. Then check the tune-up specs, wires, and sparkplugs of your car to make sure everything is in order. Also, make sure your car's air filter is fine and air is getting to your engine. Finally, check the fuel pump. And dont think you always have to replace your fuel pump -- the wire to the pump may simply be loose or corroded. Good luck...

Replace the distributor. This is the cause of many problems with the engine running on those cars. It contains the cam sensor, the coil and has been a thorn in many a side.

The car sputtered when I tried starting it. It did start but as I was driving it was as if it was losing power. The engine light went on and 40 seconds later it just died.

I have a 1999 sebring JX conv. It was doing the same thing. It turned out to be barometric pressure sensor. It was forcing the computer into backup mode. I took it to Chrysler and it has ran perfect.
Hope this helps.
