You will not like the Solution But, Here Goes! You have either a Blown Head Gasket or a Hairline Crack in the Engine Block. You will need to get a Compression Check on this Motor and the Heads.

WONT BLOW OUT HOT AIR AND ENGINE OVER HEATS

If you get an overheating problem, the pressure in the system increases, The radiator cap has a pressure release valve to stop further damage to the system and release the pressure which gives the impression of coolant leaking out. Possible causes of overheating:- Low coolant level (a leak in the system). Thermostat not opening (need to replace). Cylinder head gasket leaking (need system pressure tested) indication of head gasket can be water in the oil, look in the oil filler cap, if there is a creamy brown sludge, indicates water present. Weather if the weather is hot, possible electric cooling fan isn't working. There is a possibility that the seal on the radiator cap is at fault (rare)

I have oil coming from the front of the Valve cover gasket and i have water coming out of my exhaust pipe, what can i do to fix this?

Water out of the tailpipe is normal. If you live in colder climates it will be more noticeable in the cold weather. The catalytic converter is responsible for this as one of the by products of its conversion of exhaust gasses is water.

As far as the valve cover leaking oil, it sounds like the valve cover gasket is bad and needs to be replaced. It wouldn't be a bad idea to replace the PCV valve at the same time. If the valve isn't working correctly it can cause excessive pressure in the motor which can cause gaskets to fail.

A mechanic put regular 30w oil when he changed the oil..said oil is oil - I told him it requires synthetic 5w 30 - will this effect the car? Getting restricted performance intermittently.

Hi, no it wont make any difference the 5 relates to it working in cold weather but unless you have got freezing temperatures or below freezing then you will be just fine, remember not to mix oils so if it needs topping up you need to top it up with the same oil as mixing can cause it to gel up a bit and can cause problems.

having this oil in your car wont cause any harm at all and you will be just fine.

let me know if you need further assistance ok
plz rate this solution as i have a whole page of unrated posts, thanks

My 2000 Cadillac Catera is has water mixed with

Oil cooler under the intake plenum at rear top of engine is either bad or the gasket is gone. If you take oil filler cap off, you will see the paste on the cap. Are you going through coolant every so often?

Same as on my wife's 01.

Oil mixed with water in coolant

Head gasket would be your only problem, the oil cooler normally is cooled by air and not water.

it is normal to have that paste stuff on the underside of your oil cap and some on the tube the cap goes on. this is condensation it goes to the highest points in the engine alot of short trips makes this worse
if the oil thats drained out looks like regular dirty old oil then dont worry about it
if it looks pastie white then you got trouble

Overheating

I think you have made a correct diagnosis. The loss of power and water from exhaust all point that way.
