Question about Volvo S40
My 2005 Volvo S40 had front crash/ accident couple of weeks ago. When I put the key in the ignition, it just turn on with all the lights on dash board, but it won't start. I plug in the computer because it has check engine light, then it reads....two codes, P0603 and U0101. Someone told me I need to reprogram or replace the ECM in the car. Please any advice or suggestions? Thanks

The best thing is to go to your local Volvo maintenance shop or Volvo experts to find out whats the problem..usually the coomon ones I think is the programs inside its ECU unit..you try this..ask the volvo experts to reset the ECU and lets see..if problem arise then it is no doubt you might need the sensor..hope this help..

look in the trunk... either it has side panels that can be removed... or you will see a hole in the side of the lining with a sticker that points out where it is.
Please take a moment to rate this solution thanks

SOURCE: Car won't start
If there is a blinking car icon with an "X" over it. This icon means the Immobilizer has been activated and hence won't allow the car to start. It could be due to a bad SCU, Start Control Unit. The SCU is actually the ignition switch on these cars.
Most of the time it's triggered by the anti-theft system..You can try this trick i learned that the dealers won't tell you...try locking and unlocking of the doors five times with the remote to reset the immobilizer and see if this helps.
Good luck...i hope this helps...please take a minute to rate me a fixya.

Replacement of the fuel pump would be the case here, unless the fuel filter needs to be changed. To find out, remove the fuel filter, and blow threw it with your mouth, kinda tast bad but it will tell you if the fuel filter is restricted. You should be able to blow threw it easy.
