For the 303 and 4 replace or check spark plugs. Cylinder 3 & 4 are where error detected, if error persists a little more expense likely ignition coils to test you can move 1 and 2 across and see if the error moves away from 3 & 4. Fix nor problem at a time this I'd start. Also check your battery is giving healthy voltage to your system actually do that first.

SOURCE: selespeed gearbox fault

Hi, it might be worth getting your gear selector checked as these have a nylon/plastic ball at the bottom now if this has worn down then when you try selecting a gear it will cause the problem your having.(its under neath the gearstick before it links to the two selector rods so check this.)

Also worth checking alot of cars where the two rods come from the selector and then their is two rods going to the gear box one of these is fixed and cant be adjusted but the other rod can be adjusted and its often the case that this adjustment can take up the play and solve your problem.
The problem with this is that it can be adjusted forwards and backwards it slides when you undo the bolt that goes through it so make sure you can mark exactly where the selector is where you can adjust it so that you can set it back their if it makes it worse or no differance.
If yours can be adjusted then make sure you mark where it is now then just move it a small bit at a time one way and then give it a try if no differance then move it a bit more if it gets worse then put it back where it was originally then try going the other way see if it makes any differance if not then it wont be adjustment problem.
If neither of these are problem then the chances are the gears have stripped and this would give you the problem your having as the faster you go the harder it is for the teeth to locate on the correct gear in the box.

As for stripping the box it isnt really worth doing as the parts would be expensive and would cost as much as a second hand gear box.
The best option would be a reconditioned gear box as you know that it has be rebuilt with any new parts needed and you should also get some warranty on it which is always a bonus.

Are you sure the clutch is ok test this by having the car running and at a standstill with the hand brake on put car into 2nd gear and with the handbrake on gently let the clutch up slowly and see if it feels like its slipping if the clutch is ok then the car will stall this is what will happen if the clutch is ok.

Let me know how you get on or if you have any problems or questions and ill assist you the best i can ok.

Yup...very likely plugged exhaust or restricted fuel filter or weak fuel pump. Put a fuel pressure gauge on it and reproduce the problem...make sure pressure doesnt drop below 35-40 psi. If pressure is good loosen exhaust in front of the cat converter and go for another drive (noisy) see if the power comes back. Cats are more likely to plug up than mufflers

This is probably something you are going to have to take to your mechanic and have them look at for you.

po303 is cylinder 3 misfire, po304 is cylinder 4 misfire, po305 is 5 cylinder misfire. this means it could be bad plugs, wires. or coils that are bad. change plugs and see how it is running.

there is nothing wrong with the timing chain position . Just a series of sensors that have gone outside the set parameters so if you check and change each one you will clear the faults.

Replaced both speed sensors. changed fluid and filter in ******. still dont want to go into overdrive. acts like its stuck in 3rd gear and tacks around 4000 rpm going 40 mph

sounds like it's in default(2nd gear only) try key on engine off, press accelator fully four times ,this should clear the code then try it again,if it resets you will have to get the code.
Turn the key on-off-on-off-on and count the flashes of the check engine light ,for example 3 flashes then a pause then 2 flashes would be code 32.

Slipping into first gear when driving past 40 mph

Dodge has a safety feature on there trannys. Its called limp home mode. If the computer detects a problem with the transmission, it will eather put it in 1st or 2nd and not change just to let you get out of the road or home if your near. But when you restart the car i will reset till it detects the problem again. But for as what the problem is it will be hard to say. With computer trannys you can have it hooked up and scanned for error code.

97 concorde with 3.5 engine @ 40 to 45 mph it starts bucking .

Computer firmware needs upgrade

Take your car to a Chrysler dealer shop and have them update the transmission program. As your tranny wears it loses it shift point and stutters between 40 - 45 mph looking for the right gear to change to..Had same problem in 94 Concorde and 94 T&C minivan.Reprogramming tranny fixed both cars.

Yes, it is possible that the exhaust is plugged, and more specifically, it could be at the cat. converter. You would need someone to disconnect the exhaust system where the header pipe connects to the exhaust manifold, then drive it. If it preforms good, check converter or muffler. I have seen both at fault.
