2002 PT cruiser, I have went through three rebuilt starters after I put it in it starts then there's a pop then the starters hot and then my car won't start something is taking my starters out!!

Hi Chasity:
It sounds as if power is continuing to be supplied to the starter.
That can occur if the solenoid has failed, if it is not correctly wired, or if power is continuing to be supplied to the exciter terminal (faulty ignition switch).
I'd recommend that you disconnect the wire from the solenoid to the starter and then do some function tests with a voltmeter.
Hope this helps.

Non start starter does not engage starter motor checked ok. exciter wire at starter not live when key turned. Could the fan relay have a say in this problem?

No. Your problem most likely is the starter relay.
Let's try this again r you getting power to the relay if not could be ignition switch if power is present at relay but not at starter break in wire

Is the exciter wire connected to the starter, try there first , cheers or excite the wire by bridging it with power, if it still doesn't crank then replace the starter motor

94 ford escort lx. Only clicks at relay when trying to start. Replaced battery, ignition relay, neutral safety switch, ignition switch, starter tests good. Power going to starter but no power to exciter...

if you have battery power on the large terminal at the starter and the same on the smaller wire when someone Is turning the key to start and the starter has a good ground then the starter is bad drawing too much amperage causing the clicking sound.

1996 ignition switch-what wires to check power on

ignition switch may be worn or a loose exciter wire [to starter] thats the small terminal on starter motor you can bridge it to the posative [power] on the starter it should start!
if it does start just work back from there to ignition look for broken or loosse connection
if that all is ok it will need ignition switch
