I have a 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer GTS CVT and need to know what kind of cord I need to buy to connect my IPod.

I own a 2007 Eclipse.
You can purchase the cord from the dealership, with the instructions for the I-Pod cord. Not hard to install on the Eclipse, takes about 30 minutes to install. This is the only known place to get this I-Pod connector.

NO. you must use appropriate CVT fluid, anything else will damage transmission.
