SOURCE: Cruise control stopped working

if the fuses are ok then i would say that there is a distruption between the cruise module vehicle speed sensor and the computer(ECM). unfortunately this is something only a qualified tech with diagnostic equipment can correct. i'm sure there are stored fault codes that the tech needs to check and reset. it's been my experience that oftyen times when this problem happens it has to do with the transmission control module which dictates how the engine and the transmission sync up to shift properly and your speed is measured through the transmission circuit thus the cruise control circuit is slaved to that.anymore questions feel free to contact me . just click my user tab on this site

SOURCE: cruise control doesnt work on my 2003

Please don't leave me bad feedback if this is not the problem, but one thing about certain GM's, you will not find it in the circuit diagram, but if there is a light out on the third brake light, the cruise may not work.

I was an A tech for GM mostly rebuilding transmissions which meant I got into the electronics allot, and cruise was always the hardest to figure out. I spent two hours on a chevy once only to find out about the hidden circuit related to the third brake light. An older tech had a good time letting me search before he finally told me the secret. They may have done away by now, but you will loose nothing just to check the brake light.

Hope it helps.

Where is the fuse for the cruise control located at

Most are under the hood in a box marked fuses by the battery. and Dodge also has one under the dash under the glove box. Last there may be one as you open the drivers door on the side of the dash. You can`t see it with the door closed. best to look in the owners manual for it.

My cruise control on my Chevy 2002 Impala will not work. Is it a fuse problem or other?

Click on the link, part of cruise control circuit, you can see the fuses. Not only check the fuses, use a test lite to check voltage on fuse circuit, goes hot with key on.
Make sure the brake lites work?
Check applicable trouble codes relating to cruise control. There are other possible issues.

2002 lincon ls cruise control wont engage. i checked fuses but i didnt see any marked for cruise control. where do i start checking.

there are a few thing to check, make sure the linkage from cruise to throtle is connected . then check connection and vacuum hoses to control and make sure there are no vac leaks if this system uses vacuum, some are all electronic.hope this helps, ps. i would just test all the fuses, the fuse may be labeled with another system because the cruise wont be fused by itself it will be getting power from another system.heres a few diagram to help there are a few fuses that control the cruise one is in the inside fusebox and the other is in the under the hood fuse box also i circled the linkage at throtle to check, good lck and i hope this is helpful.7609dbc.gifc1bf773.gifbcba89d.gif0ee6404.gifffa43a3.gif6f8a96f.gif

Cruise control on 1995 dodge neon doesnt work

when it comes to fuses, take a look in your owners manual to see specifically what fuses do what. Because some fuses will be used to protect several circuits and the fuse panel cover will not tell you all of them.

Cruise control not working

Fuse is marked "ASC" 10A Speed Control (passenger compartment fuse box), most likely this will not be the problem, and if th fuse blew then there is a short and it won't work, the most common cause is the cruise control switch circuit.

Cruise control

Here's the situation, there was a factory recall on the cruise control module for Explorers and Expeditions during recent years and your vehicle may be included. This is very important because in some vehicles this faulty cruise control module sparked and caught on fire. Here's what you do, call the Ford dealer in your area(service) with the vin number to your vehicle, they will tell you if your vehicle was under this factory recall and if it is they will replace it for free. I would be very careful as you may have one of these faulty modules. Hope this helped.
