Question about Cars & Trucks
I think the fuel line or system is dirty what kind of solution do i use. the car jerks everytime I engage 2nd gear and engae 3rd gear so i am thinking there is not enough petrol fed injected into the system. what could be the problem, is it clogged?
If the car behaves after engaging gears and drives ok then I doubt if fuel is the problem. I would be looking at a faulty clutch m/cyl or a failing clutch plate

I had the same problem with my 1989 Chevy Cavalier Z24 with the Automatic transmission. There is an electric lock up clutch within the torque converter that engages at roughly 35mph. It's designed to give the car better highway mileage. If that circuit fails, the clutch will remain in the "locked" position when hot, and stalls the car unless neutral is engaged and the car comes to a complete stop. I remember the car making all sorts of odd noise with this malfunction. I took mine to the dealership and they had it repaired in an hour.
My daughter had a similar problem with her 1988 Cavalier Z24 with the manual 4-speed transmission. There is a speed sensor on the top of the transmission that I replaced which solved the problem for her.

What you need to check is the transmission release bearing because if there is a clearance on the release bearing you will encounter this problem and also check the transmission oil.

Yes....check your fluid level. It sounds low. Does it do it in a turn when you step on the gas as you are turning, slip?

Yes it could and the transmission could need more transmission fluid and you should change the fluid and filter every 35,000 miles.
