Question about Cars & Trucks
I have a 03 plate Mitsubishi Carisma 1.9 DDI which used the key to operate the central locking. Latley when i open the car as normal with the key the car opens but when i turn the key back the the middle of the lock to take it out it locks the car again so i have to open the car then the back door take the key out causing the doorts to lock and then lift the button manually - Any Ideas?

looks like you will need a drivers door lock actuator (contains the latch)if the door will not unlock with the remote either.the lock cylinder usually will fail since you had to use it everytime to unlock the door. the lock cylinder is vin specific so expect a delay when its ordered from the dealership.i would probably expect around $800 for the complete repair, kinda pricey but the dealership will go out of its way to retain a customer.

More than likely your front driver door module has failed. You will need to replace this module and readapt the key fobs for locking and unlocking

Without diagnosing this problem myself, the possible causes are MANY!
Best solution is take the vehicle into a Hyundai Dealership and have it diagnosed/troubleshot by a qualified technician.
