2002 Nissan Pathfinder-heat works fine but loud screeching noise

About a month ago, whenever the heat is on, there is a loud screeching noise that started to come and go. The car heats normally, but I know something is wrong due to the noise. It is now happening a lot and someone said it was the blower motor. But it looks like there is a resistor and other parts involved. My husband is very handy...is there anyway to test these parts to see if the whole blower motor needs to be replaced or if it is just one part?

You can Check those with a Voltometer But, Ultimately you will have to Change the Blower Motor.

For the screeching noise you need to replace the blower motor and for the blower motor speed you need to replace the blower motor resistor.

I have a 2002 Pontica sunfire my air condition stopped working a couple of months ago it doesn't even put cold or heat air, it makes a weird nosie, i was wondering what it could be?

If the weird noise is like a coffee grinding machine, the a/c compressor is shot. If the noise goes away when you turn off the a/c, it confirms compressor trouble. If there is a screeching noise when you rev up the engine, it could be that the a/c belt has too much slack and is not turning over the compressor. Heat production and management has nothing to do with the a/c, it is a separate system,

I can't tell what is screeching but when I drive my car is making a loud screeching noise continuously

Could be from the engine , loose belt. Or the brakes , they have little metal prongs on them that squeel to tell you that the pads are almost wore out.

My Nissan Murano started to screech upon accelerating from a stop at an intersection. The grinding screech lasted for about 10 seconds, but then loud clunking started and driving was affected with jerks...

i have same issue... good luck to you and me we bought a car with so much unreliability. people have reported spending thousands on unusual repairs on this vehicle. oh god all i want to do now is sell it and get something that can be true to my wallet.

2001 Pathfinder screeches on start

Remove the belt and check all pulleys for smooth operation. any binding at all is amplified when belt tension is applied. also check the belt itself...If it's glazed or dried out, it can be noisy.

2004 nissan pathfinder fan noise

I had the same problem in my Pathfinder a couple months ago. It's most likely your fan clutch. I had mine replaced, and the noise went away. And it seems that it is the cold weather causes this.

Yes. The other Components VERY Rarely go out. So changing them will not do much, Everytime the Blower Motor has to be Replaced. You are just skipping the Trial and Error Process.
