Question about 2000 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

1 Answer

Mercedes Benz 2000 E 240 doesn't want to start after a while when it was driven. You have to wait about 10 minutes before it starts. The other day the car just died on my while driving. What can be the problem? We already checked the fuel filter.

    Thank you, Ray190te

But can you tell me where the crank sensor is?

  • chgo4sale Feb 28, 2009

My 2000 E320 has the same two issues, stalling or not starting after driving. When it first started happening, the time between events was months, now it's occurring more frequently. Is this an expensive fix? I've been kicking around the idea of trading it in, but things being what they are today, I was hoping to hold off for a year or so.

Flooded engine?? Could be several problems. Get it immediatedly to the dealer. Do not tow it yourself. MBs have to be moved by knowledgable people. Don't take a chance.

Hi, My thoughts exactly ( fuel leak). Is this a deisel or gas engine?
In both cases be very careful with lights or cigarettes.
You can smell it when you get out of car in a garage or stall.
Good luck.

My 1985 Mercedes 380 SE, will not start after its been driven buty wi9ll start after I wait 1 hour

Look for fues system pressure retention. IF fluid pressure drops off, sometimes this happens. What fuel system does the car have?

After an hour, an enrichment circuit may be called, allowing start.

Does the engine turn over at normal speed?

Sl 500 1991: problem starting when engine is warm

I would check your injectors, as if they are leaking slightly, the residual fuel pressure can force some fuel into the manifold even with the car off, and it it can cause temporary flooding.

Please leave positive feedback if I have helped you

thanks
