Question about 1991 Honda Accord

Open Question

I have a 91 Honda Accord LX , my car stalled out on me and gave me a code 15. ive been researching the problem and i know it cant be the distributor because i replaced it with a aftermarket one 7 months and ago and i know the main relay is good because i hear the relay click and that was replaced about a year ago. I am not to sure if its a transmission problem. my D4 light doesnt work. so i dont know if its flashing and my "S" light isnt flashing. also my car does have a bit of a poor up shift and down shift at times. the car only stalls when i perform a power brake test. the car runs fine in park and rev the engine to 2000rpm. also the car does turn back on when i let the car cool down a bit. any thoughts?

SOURCE: Check engine and d4 lights on

d4 is flashing as a trouble code for the automatic transmission... i would say without research that it is a code for a transmission solenoid. maybe while washing the car some water got in and caused a short...these solenoids are usually weatherproof....you could try disconnscting the battery for 30 secs..to clear the trouble code and then start the car. remember you may lose your preset info!

SOURCE: i have a 91 honda accord lx starts fine runs good

It may be the O2 sensor. I know it's not the fuel filter, spark plugs, spark plug wires, Vehicle Speed Sensor, Dis. cap, or TCM.

SOURCE: 92 honda accord lx D4 flashes

you have a transmission fault the D4 light blinks to tell you that there is a transmission problem when the light is blinking the transmission computer put the transmission into limp home mode so it will not shift normally and you should try not to drive it very far when it gets to this stage you need to have the transmission codes check to pin point the problem

the S light is on more than likely because of you speedometer or your vss "vehicle speed censor" which is connected to your transmission im having the same problem on my 91 accord lx. check the codes and let me know what the codes are and i may be able help a little more if you dont know how to check the codes I can help with that as well

I have an 89 Honda Accord lx and it idles too low

The idle speed for my 88 accord lx is 700-850 rpm for standard idle speed. The stalling is a seperate issue. When were plugs, wires, air/gas filters and distributor last checked? How long has engine been running for when you stall? Is the temprature gauge high? Any lights coming on when stall occurs? I am not a mechanic, but a DYI'er. These are common questions I am always asked when troubleshooting my Honda. :)

i'd say the smell is coming from the leak, as for the stalling i would replace leads and plugs and set idle!!
