One easy thing to do is remove the negative side of the battery for 30 seconds. If that solves your problem then you are good. If that does not work you could have a bad chip in the key or the reciever, take it to where it was installed and they will check that for you free of charge butif needs repair they will of course charge you. If that is ok then you need to take a look at the ignition itself. Outside chance that someone did try to disable it and you have a broken wire.
