1993 GMC 3500. when you turn the head lights on all the dash lights go out.

SOURCE: i have a 1988 GMC 3500 and the dash lights do not

mostly they have a thermal fuse in them that blows if too much of heat builds up in them and they have an improved blower moter thermal fuze kit for them i suspect thats the promblem....if thats the problem try to replace the thermal fuse

they are controlled by a ground and always have power to them so look for a wire that rubbed against metal

When i turn on my headlights the left side gets dim and the running lights all go dim but the right head light and running light are bright. the dash lights also goes out on just the head light setting. If...


it sounds like you have a bad connection on the left headlight either the earth or the power wire,check the connector on the headlight bulb plus all the other wiring & connector plugs.....hope this helps.....cheers.

I have a 2007 gmc 3500 diesel and i have lost power to part of my dash ,radio,all gauges except speedo and abs ,battery light stay on .truck still starts and runs.


check with dealer on tsb (kind of recall)
they had problem dash in some vehicles
mine 2003 was just replaced at no charged
it met all criterias

It seems you have a sort circuit in the wiring or the switch......

normally you have 2 types of shorts, 1 is to earth and this causes the fuse to blow, indicating a fault and preventing a fire.

The second one is a short to power, where the circuit remains on, despite the switch being turned off.

I would suggest that the park light switch is shorting out.

If you are not familiar with electronics, I would prefer you seek an auto electrician to do the job.

I have a 1993 chevy 3500 with a 6.5 turbo diesel and after about a hour of running all the coolant went into the oil


SOUND LIKE THE HEAD GASKET LEAKING.MOST OF THE TIME WHEN YOU FIND COOLANT IN OIL.HEAD GASKET LEAKING.
