Bad ball bearings are caused by a bad CV Joint, the joint bends causing the balls to click as they slide around in their cage windows and grooves. The noise is usually loudest when backing up with the wheels turned.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The issue is the injector pump, it is in the plenum for the intake manifold, the clunk noise is a cv or universal joint.

1998 pontiac GP makes thuunk when put in reverse

It is the rear motor mount. If there is a load on the motor it will make the noise and if there isnt any loud on it it wont make it. They should put a new one on it and maybe they could sell the car faster. There is three motor mounts on this car , one on the frount of the motor and one near the fan and another on the trans in back of the motor.

Possibly a bad strut alowing the tire to bounce that is only happening under certain driving conditions. May also have the tires checked, one may have a fat spot or knot on it that worsens as the tire gets warmer after driving it for a while. Hope this inforamtion is useful to you. Good Luck!

Hello and welcome to FixYa!

Even if you are missing a lug nut it won't make a noise if the rest are tight. I suspect that the problem will be on the wheel bearing. The wheel bearing can be worn out that's why you hear a noise. I suggest that you go for the wheel bearing replacement to resolve the issue.
Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!

Rear end making l;oud noise when driving

If you are getting a thunking noise, your rear u-joint is probably due for replacement. If it is more of a whining/grinding noise, you re looking at replacing wheel bearings, carrier bearings, or pinion bearings.

Sounds like you already know what is wrong with it. It most likely needs a motor, or a rebuild.

2006 Chevy Trailblazer loud thunk noise at start up

My first guess would be the front u-joint on the drive shaft. Try twisting the u-joint to see if there is any play, which there shouldn't be. If the u-joint is OK, have the transmission checked out at a reputable shop. There could be a problem with the torque converter, the valve body, or the bands. You didn't say whether this was a 4 wheel drive or not, but I doubt that the problem is with the transfer case. Let me know what you find.
