Don't mess with it! Water damage is a very serious thing on printed circuit boards. Get a new one...it might seem ok after you put it back, but there are deposits from the water that may short it out when you need it most!

SOURCE: My car alarm is blinking

you can try switching the key to the "on" position then open the hood and disconnect the negative terminal of the battery and reconnect after 2minutes. this will allow the alarm to be '"reset" and will recognize that you have the key for the vehicle.

SOURCE: My car alarm is blinking

You need to first look under the drivers side dash area near the hood release/fuse panel area and see if there is a valet switch. The switch will look like a little toggle or a push switch. After you locate it, turn the ignition switch to the on position(dont start it) and flick the valet to the opposite position it is in now. If done correctly in most cases the red system light will stay a constant instead of off or blinking indicating you are in valet mode. Next try to start the engine. If this doesnt work you need to remove the alarm system and repair the ignition switch wiring or replace the electrical portion of the ignition switch. The aftermarket alarm cuts into the ignition switch wires and bypasses the start circuit through the alarm module. When disarmed the alarm completes the circuit and allows the car to start. Good luck hope this helps and please rate this.

Why won't my miss fire?

Fuel injectors may be dirty.. or plugged. The car just sitting there may have caused the gas to go bad which may have given them a head start on plugging from the get go. Get some cleaner for it.

It may still be the alarm. Turning it off does not keep it from interfering when its bad. The alarm may need to be completely removed and any wires that were cut on the vehicle need to be hooked back up as there were before the alarm was installed.
At least doing this eleminates a good posibilty

The security system does not disable the starter, it only disables fuel to the engine. In the fuse block under the hood, locate the STARTER relay. Place your hand on this relay and see if it clicks while someone else turns the key to start...if the relay is ok then the starter itself is faulty. Good luck, i hope this helps.

Check the user manual for the kill switch location. At times, these models are equipped with a removable key that will cause the same problem.
