the plugs are fouling from fuel leaking past injectors and injector seals into the inlet manifold
it is nor a plug problem but injector and excess fuel problem as the fuel rail retains pressure when the ignition is off so any faults in the system will leak that pressure into the manifold

Loss of power in 1989 dodge ram d100

Check your catalitic converter, excessive back pressure will make the vehicle feel like you are pressing the brakes while trying to floor it. Does the converter glow bright red? then there is a problem with the system, most likely a plugged converter, or muffler

My 2001 alero shakes at stop lights dies from time to time and when the light turns green it looses powers sort of like a drag

  • Sounds like you have some really fouled plugs. I would start with a tune up or plugs and wire at least. When your plugs, or even one plug, get fouled it creates a misfire and when at a stop light etc the cars will shake a bit and almost feel like it wants to **** a bit. Then when taking off it putters and lacks proper accelerations abilities.

  • Also make sure to use good gas as bad gas will cause some sluggishness too.

  • Hope this helps.

Hello there good man or woman

Lets start off like this there is 50 different things that can cause these issues but will start with the simple things in a list. So here it goes

1. bad spark plugs (carbon fouled, fuel fouled, oil fouled, heat glazed, or just worn out rounded electrode's )
2. spark plug wires (there is no simple way to check this but there cheap and easy to try)
3. distributor cap & igniton rotor (or coil pack if so equipped) could be corroded carbon glazed heat glazed again thought both rotor button and distributor cap are cheap and easy to change. If it is a coil cheap to and just as easy on both this is were plug wires connet to on the oppsite end of spark plugs.
4. coil pick up (this sits underneath distributor cap and rotor and is cheap and easy to fix aswell)
5. clogged air filter
6. bad pcv valve
7. bad egr valve
8. bad fuel pressure regulator
9.bad fuel pump or clogged strainer
10. vaccum line leaking or off

I know with all that being said may sound overwelming but most are easy to fix and cheap this is what i would so first do a good tune up this includes new spark plugs , plug wires, air filter , pcv valve, fuel filter distributor cap and rotor (or coil pack if so equipped ) .

That will most likley fix your problem

If it helps please leave 4 thumbs up and if it works a testomnial thanks

Toyota std 1996 pic up/acceleration problem

Well if its having trouble picking up acceleration and you haven't change the fuel filter I would start with that.

It sounds like you have the rest of the basic maintenance already done: Plugs, wires, cap and rotor which is great!

You could also purchase a can of dry gas and try that. Their could just be condensation in your fuel system that is making your car run poorly.

Both of these suggestions are relatively cheap and easy to do so that is where I would start if I was in your shoes.

I hope this gets you started in the right direction and please give me a fixya vote if I've helped you,
