Should be to replace battery with having cranking issues.just make sure ignition switch off keys out ignition. and turn radio off before disconnecting negative battery cable you may or may not lose radio code.if so dealership has to reprogram radio. your ECM may lose memory but it will reset after one drive cycle to restore driveability.

Changed crankshaft position sensors without disconnecting the battery

disconnecting the battery wouldnt have made no difference ,try putting the old sensor back on and clear the codes and see what happens ,as sometimes the code comes up for no reason other than a hot car interior ,also check the part numbers on the sensors as it could be a different voltage output but dont go their as to how this can happen

Just put new battery in my 2001 Saturn and now I can't get my stereo to play. Please help

If it is a factory stereo, you have to call a Saturn dealer and they will give you a code to unlock.I don't know if the automatically tell you how to do it so you may have to ask.Write it down too because it will happen every time the battery gets disconnected and sometimes it needs to be even though they aren't working on your battery.Good luck! Have 2001 dodge intrepid with code p1594 i just changed the battery n alternator but dont know whats going on! battery light came on and then turned off but this was the code i retrieved!

You say you changed the battery recently. It may be one of two things causing the trouble code...

  1. New battery may not be good. It happens all the time. Have it checked to make sure.
  2. A loose battery cable can throw the code as well. Check battery cables to make sure they are completely tight and secure.
Good luck!

Need to change battery in my used Land Rover. I do not have the radio code to reprogram after I put in the new battery.

get some jump leads and another battery of car, connect the leads to the terminals after you have loosened them make sure they stay connected while you remove the battery this way the radio will remain powered and you will not have to put in the code

Need advice on changing a battery on a 2000 VW jetta

I change the battery on my TDI by undoing the nuts in any order, positive first and then neg, or vice versa. If you happen to have a long wrench that can connect terminals, be very careful not to touch the other one, undo the neg first then. When you work on the positive pole do not touch any metal parts of the body, if you have not released the neg yet, otherwise you will see fireworks with the following fuse replacement.
When the batteyr is disconnected from the terminals the radio code will be lost. If you don't know your original radio code, you will have to go to the dealer and pay $105 for the code. Without that code the the radio will not work unless you have installed other than VW CD player
