Question about 2003 Ford Explorer
The fan willl run good and then all of the suden it will turn off and it does the same thing when i got the ac on too.so what i have to do is turn it to the off position for a minute and then turn it back on and it will work fine.can anybody tell me what could be the problem? thanks
If you are talking about the inside heater a/c blower motor, it may be starting to go. You also might want to check the blower motor relay in the black junction box under the hood, usually near the battery. If this relay is cutting out, it may be bad or may be cutting out becuase the fan motor is drawing too much current due to wear.

I would check to see if there is a short on the fan controller switch and the motor. sounds like a crossed wire, especially if it's ignoring your speed selection and running when the key is out. could be near the fuse box under the dash. the cig lighter circuit is live all the time as well as a couple others, it maybe crossing with it. I would pull the fuse panels assem down and check for crosses and shorts.

SOURCE: Heater/AC fan
blower motor resistor is the most probable cause of this i would go to the dealer after market part for this will leave you upset and you will just wind up at the dealer anyway
