A518 transmission problems just rebuilt and driving down the road it stops pulling dropped pan nothing in it added new fluid and won't pull

automatic -- check the harness connections have been connected properly
to just stop pulling indicates a torque converter clutch servo/solenoid problem and that indicates a wiring problem

Renault 21 transmission shifting

hi Hamish, what you describe is called a 'flaring shift' when revs
don't correlate to vehicle speed due to a slipping auto.
have you rechecked the auto oil level when the engine is running,
sometimes they take a long time to fill because the onboard oil
pump in the auto in very small.

Transmission held 3rd gear longer than normal but finally shifted. When the car stopped at a stop sign, everything was fine until time to pull out into the road. The transmission would not pull in any...

it could be the torque converter, but not a valve there is a separate valve for each gear, the chance of all the valves sticking at the same time would be rair but even if the converter has failed it will send trash all threw the transmission causing you transmission to have to be rebuilt or replaced, you have probably had a pump fail in the transmission witch would also cause you to have to rebuild the transmission or replace it, but you might just want to check the fluid level, you may have a leak and it is just so low on fluid it can not work.......GOOD LUCK

1999 chevy venture van, going downthe road it loses power and sputters and pops sometimes, no lights come on at the dash any ideas????

Start by checking the fuel filter. You could an intermittent failure in the fuel pump. I haven't seen it too often where it comes back to life but every once in a while. Replace the fuel filter as necessary. Then have the fuel pressure tested. You can borrow a fuel pressure guage from most local parts stores. O'Reilly's seems to be creeping up everywhere so look for them and they do free loaners(for collateral which you get back). You are going to run the vehicle for a while to see if it will act up and see if the pressure drops out. Also note check engine light on the instrument cluster. Note whether or not it flickers or stays illuminated. Let me know and I will continue to help.

I have a 2001 taurus,DOHC,24 valve.....At first the car would surge real bad, like when you pull up to a stoplight it would jump and idle rough and die,,,,Ive changed the tps,DPFE sensor, the EGR vaccum...

You do not mention any testing, the transmission and engine are fully electronically controlled, have the system scanned for fault codes as a first step in repair.

Stalling And Engine Revving

Sounds like a transmission problem. My car was doing that and it turns out it had a transmission fluid leak that had led to major transmission damage. The bad news: the entire transmission had to be rebuilt.
