You can delete the codes by removing the battery negative terminal for 5 Sec or more. By this method you can only delete the engine and power train codes. ABS and EPS codes cannot be deleted by this method. Better to retrieve and delete the error codes with code reader or diagnostic computer. Make a note of freeze frame data before clearing the codes.

Hi again just got a new battery, battery light is still on car is starting, but now whats the problem

The BATTERY light indicates that your battery is not getting charged. There could be several reasons for this most probably your alternator, which generates the current to charge the battery when the engine is running. If the new battery is not getting charged, it will eventually drain not start your car. To confirm that the battery is not getting charged and that is the reason for the BATTERY light, put a volt meter across the battery while the engine is running. It should read around 13 volts indicating that current is flowing into the battery. If it reads 11 volts or less, that means the batter is being drained and not charged. Then have your alternator checked.G

Reset check engine light

Check Engine Light can be reset by disconnecting the battery terminal and and putting it back again. Make sure you have the code for the radio before you disconnect the battery terminal as the radio can get locked. You can get the radio code from any dealer.
Another way to rest the check engine light is by using an error code checking meter. You will have to purchase one.
It is always better to first get it checked from a mechanic for the reason of the light to come on before you reset the light as it might be an indication of a serious engine issue.

Battery and brake light on

For some reason the brake warning light and battery light are connected, so either system could be having problems.
The battery warning light could mean the battery is not being charged, and the brake warning light could mean you are low on brake fluid.
I would start with the check engine light and see what the codes are.

My ckeck engine light just came on

If you have a 1997 Wrangler, turn the key on and off three times in five seconds (without cranking the engine). Error codes should begin to flash in the odometer, and the check engine light will flash out the numbers (like Morse code). Write the numbers down, excluding the number 55 which means "end of codes". Finally, google "TJ error codes" and see whats wrong with your truck.

The most common are battery disconnect and upstream/downstream O2 sensor. If battery disconnect comes up, it means that you disconnected the battery for some reason and will go away after 40 warm-up cycles. For O2 sensors, you will have to get them replaced by your local mechanic.

How to reset Service Engine light? 2003 Envoy ... Autozone says engine temp too low was reason for light. That's silly. I have gages ... it runs at 180 degrees. I just want the light off.

Ok replace the thermostat which is stucked open, cuz the computer will not go into open loop unless the engine reaches normal operating temperature. You can disconnect the battery, to reset it, but untill you replace the thermostat, the check engine light will pop up again. Good luck

Check engine light is on. Can I drive it?

You have to take it to a mechanic. they will connect a machine to the car's cpu. the machine will find the problem that correspond with the diagnostic code in the car's cpu. you can drive the car but it all depends on the reason the check engine light came on. it could be a mechanical problem, or an electrical problem. one possibility is one of the sensors in the car may need replacing. if you want to turn the check engine light off without going to the mechanic all you have to do is disconnect the battery. this will erase the check engine light code in the car's cpu.
