Find a diagram or take a picture of the existing belt, loosen off the tensioner, take the old belt off, put the new one on correctly following your diagram or pic, tighten the tensioner.

SOURCE: CAN THE SERPENTINE BELT BE REROUTED TO BYPASS THE

No,but you can purchase a by pass pulley that will mount where the ac compressor is mounted now, just remove the ac compressor, and replace it with this by pass pulley, and use your same belt, now if the bearing in the ac clutch is the only thing wrong, have the bearing replaced on the ac compressor,it will cost about the same, the bearing at napa is about 25 dollars, and the by pass pulley is about 40 dollars. If this helps,at all, please rate, thank you.

Reroute serpentine belt

Sorry to say about the only way to skip the compressor is when that model came without air cond and I think they all did.
Sometimes you can buy a special pulley with bracket to bypass the compressor after you take it off.
Most of the time if you try to use a shorter belt something will be in the way of the routing, or the belt will drive a pulley the wrong direction.

How do I remove the belt so I can remove the Water Pump?

If you are referring to serpentine belt, Thisis how to do it. Lift the hood and prop it open. Find thelock nut on the serpentine belt and use a wrench to loosen it. Turn the adjustment bolt counterclockwiseto remove the serpentine belt. This bolt is located under the water pump hose.Remember how you remove the belt so that you can reroute the new beltcorrectly. Install the new serpentine belt by securingit on the pulleys in the same route as the old belt. Check the belt routing onthe underside of the hood to make sure you get it right. Create tension in the back of the belt byturning the adjustment bolt clockwise. Check that the belt is on each pulleyproperly. The belt should be centered on each pulley, not on the edge.Tightenthe lock nut to secure the serpentine belt in place.

Replace serpantine belt 2004 malibu

Get a 1/2" breaker bar and remove tension on belt by rotating the tensioner until belt is loose.

Remove belt noting the under over method.

Install new belt. The smooth pulleys have the back of the serpentine belt, and the grooved pulleys have the inside front of the serpentine belt up against it.

In this way you can reroute any serpentine belt on the market.

Good luck.

Serpentine belt replacement

Yes, when you go and get youre replacement belt, just make sure you get the belt for your engine that does NOT include the AC. It will not hurt anything by doing this. The only problem that may arise is when installing the new belt, make sure you install it the correct way.
