Everytime I start my renault scenic the trip and clock reset on the dash. There are also lines across the display now too. Is there anything I can do?

its a renault ,what else do you expect ??hope you got a nice discount to compensate you for a dealer only repair car.these cars are sold under false pretences as they are a millstone around your neck with their electrics and encrypted software.the repair is to change the facia behind the radio as its a one piece electrical circuit and if you unplug it the famous renault immobiliser cuts in so its dealer only .

What they are saying is very likely true. It is not uncommon for the electronic dash clusters to fail. Replace the unit. You can use a salvage yard unit, just make note on paper of the actuall mileage as to not inter fraud upon the resale of the vehicle.
