Question about 1992 Isuzu Trooper
Any mechanic types out there able to guide me? I have a 92 Trooper SOHC. The O2 "dummy" light has been on for a few days and the only problem I really noticed is that the temp seems to climb when I am driving on the highway. After I got off the highway today the car acted like it was running out of gas. The only way I could get it to go was to push the gas petal down just a small amount. I replaced the 02 sensor and now the car will not start. it turns over but no fire. The car has a half tank of gas so I know it's not out of gas. Any sugestions would be helpful.
An O2 Sensor wouldn't cause all your Problems... I would First see if your fuel pump is kicking on, Just have your buddy get in the truck, and turn the key to the ACC notch (its the one where all the lights on the dash light up) and you need to get under the gas tank and you should hear the Pump kick on, If you don't then your Fuel pump went bad.
The Over Heating Problem, Might be One of three things 1 Low Coolent/Old Coolent. Or 2 Your Radaitor is just too old to cool effectly, Replace the Rad and you should eb good, Or third would be your fan clutch, Pop the hood, And spin the fan, if it will spin but not vary far and theres resistance. The fan clutch is good, But if you can spin the fan Freely with no restance then you need a new fan clutch.
