hi from uk from what describe it sounds like your ignition system has what is called ballast resistor ignition ? it works like this when you turn key to start position ? there is 12 volts boost to ignition circuit to assist 1st time start ? but when engine fires and you release from key start position the ignition reverts to 9 volts and engine continues running on 9 volts ign ? however it would appear the ballast 9volts circuit is not there so engine will not run ? this was a common fault on datsun's now not too sure on your model exact location of resistor ? but if you wish to check if this is indeed fault you could connect a wire from positive on battery to the positive on coil? this will give constant ignition then if car starts and runs ? you have found fault however you will have to disconnect wire to stop engine DO NOT CONTINUE TO RUN ENGINE WITH THIS WIRE! it is just to test ? check out if and where ballast resistor is?

The security system in a honda has to recognize the ignition key. there is a chip in the key that sends a signal to the computer to turn off the security system. if that key has been dropped, thrown, or just used alot depending on the miles of the vehicle, the chip will no longer send that signal. unfortunatly you have to go to the dealer and buy a new key. Then they will have to program the key to corridnate with you car's computer.

Starts and dies unless I rev it up then it will Idle

The battery might be low but I doubt it is causing the "no idle" problem.
You should have an idle air control valve that the computer uses to adjust idle speed. That valve could be faulty or dirty.
Is the check engine light on when the engine is running ?

All comes on when key is turned on, starter will not engage when key turned to position. new starter, new battery, starter attempts to start car when jumped at starter relay 87 w/key on. car had started,...

Does the car have a factory security system? it may have a starter kill on it.
also check for voltage at the starter solenoid while someone holds the key to start position, you could have a faulty ignition switch.
the engine light stays on when the key is on until engine starts.

your key died? your remote keyless entrey? or the key won't start it no more? if the key won't start it no more try this before wasting money. turn the ingintion switch to the on postion for about 1 sec,. turn off then turn it right back on wait about 30 mins,. then try to start the car. we have alot of problems with them losing the programing for the transponder in the key with the halls effect,. this will usually fix this problem. hope it helps. thanks. and have a great week.

2005 chrysler sebring start then dies right

i bought a 2005 sebring and they gave me 2 keys. one grey and thick. the other black and less heavy. the black one will start the car but as soon as i take it out of park it dies. the grey key has a chip in it that sends a signal to the engine. The black one doesn't. it is more like a back up key so that if you lock your other key in the car and it also unlocks doors and trunk.

Starts and dies, starts and dies

Possible fuel pressure regulator. Altho are u sure you're getting good spark? More testing is needed here. Need to know what your fuel pressure is with "key on engine off" and then "key on, engine ON"...then turn key off and watch pressure bleed down. Bleed down should not fall below 30 psi.

My car wont stay running

Does the engine die as soon as you release the key, or does it run for a couple of seconds after you release the key and then die? If it dies as soon as you release the key, try holding the key for a few seconds and see if it will stay running as long as you are holding the key (the starter will make a grinding sound while holding the key but won't hurt anything). If it stays running while you hold the key then dies when you release it, that indicates that the ignition switch is bad.
